Think positive! - a famous phrase, isn’t it? This is how we are called to be positive. Judging by the number of people calling, you might think that we are the only ones sitting in depression, but around... everything is so rosy, wonderful and lovely.
“Think positively,” say optimists. “Heads up! Don’t be discouraged,” they encourage.
But it’s not so easy to stay afloat all the time! At least for very, very many people.
In general, what is “positive”? Why is this a way of thinking and life in general for some, while for others it works as a powerful irritant?
How is it that some people are too positive and others are not positive enough? Does positivity have boundaries? And how can you finally become more positive?
What is positivity and how to get there
Positivity implies positive emotions, cheerful thoughts, energetic intentions. Positivity allows you to feel happy without the interference of many illegal drugs. Positivity has its function to cure a person!
How many stories does humanity know of people with cancer being completely cured by switching to positive thinking? For example, one of these women said that she watched old comedies and laughed until she cried. And a few months later, her fatal diagnosis lost ground, soon disappearing entirely. Even if such examples are few, they do exist and give us hope.
But why can’t a person just take it and start thinking positively? After all, life would improve throughout the entire Earth in less than a year! What prevents everyone from being positive? How does it feel to be positive?
We need to think about the good
There is such a pattern that when we really expect something, it always comes true. However, sometimes we get not what we really want and need, but what we expect to receive. Have you noticed that when you confidently expect some event or something else that should definitely happen, it begins to influence your personality and character? The more confidence we put into our expectations, the more likely it is that some actions or words will be associated with them. And as a result, we can significantly increase the opportunity to get exactly what we need.
One wonderful thing is associated with such expectations - freedom of action. Every time you wake up in the morning you can say this: “I believe that today will bring me something amazing and good.” We need to think about good things every day. With these words, we create a certain field of expectations that surrounds you and influences everyone with whom you communicate. And it happens that it is on this day that those amazing and good events, large and/or small, that you wished for when you woke up in the morning happen to you.
Successful people expect in advance that they will be successful. Those who are happy are waiting for happiness. Famous people expect popularity. You can notice that all these people set themselves up for positive thoughts and results, or in other words, they develop the habit of thinking positively and seeing any event only in a positive light. They expect benefits in everything, even in minor failures and problems. They think only good things about other people and expect the best from them. And what’s even more surprising is that all successful people rarely have to be disappointed.
However, in addition to such positive expectations, there are also negative ones, which are typical for most of us. As a rule, unhappy people most often expect failure rather than success. They are completely disappointed in people and believe that because of them they can experience pain, sorrow, suffering, etc. They will also not be surprised that they will be unlucky in business, because they expect this in advance. In everything and always they do not hope for the best events, but only expect the worst. Is it possible to ensure health, happiness and prosperity in life? Yes, you can. But at the same time, it is very important to learn to expect the best from every situation and every person, you need to think about the good despite how everything seems at first glance. You should form the habit of expecting all the best and positive things. In the end, you will be surprised by the impact it will begin to have on the people around you and on yourself.
In addition to forming the right habits, you should also develop appropriate thoughts. So your certain thoughts are activated by emotions, be they negative or positive. As soon as we think about something, a kind of force field immediately appears around us, provoking the attraction of certain circumstances or people. If you think about something good, you will attract positive circumstances or good people. Well, if bad thoughts arise, then, accordingly, this attracts negative circumstances or bad people.
Happy and successful people always think and say what they want in life. But unhappy and unsuccessful people usually talk about situations and people that cause them disappointment and anger.
In this regard, the most important habit should be the habit of filling your mind with only positive thoughts about your life and the world around you. Of course, it takes a lot of effort to develop it, but it’s worth it.
It should be remembered that the entire world around us is nothing more than a reflection of our inner world.
Let's imagine that there are only mirrors around us. Wherever we look, we see our reflection, that is, how we treat people is what we get in return. What we think about our body affects our appearance and health. How we see people and mutual relationships is how friendship or family life will be built. Our idea of prosperity and success will affect our well-being and career. In any case, the world around us shows us ourselves, like mirrors, and we always receive what is hidden in the hidden places of our consciousness.
To put it simply, we get what we constantly think about. You should remember this. And we will become exactly what we imagine ourselves to be. Everything we think about controls and determines our world around us.
If you want to change your life, then change your consciousness and thoughts. Only we control our consciousness, not it controls us. Only we ourselves decide what to think about and what not to think about. There is no need to look for another way of control in order to correctly shape your life and future. If you completely control your consciousness, then you can easily manage your life. And thanks to this, you will find happiness, strength, confidence and freedom. And it’s unlikely that you can be stopped later.

Positivity and temperament
If this were a simple task, then lessons in positivity would be taught in school, but even here there are obstacles. The simplest explanation, or rather the “difficulties of positivity,” lies in temperament.
Most people are familiar with the division of the population of planet Earth into choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and melancholic. It is also known that choleric people are hyperactive, and melancholic people are very depressed people.
It follows that choleric people are born positive, they really see the world brighter, time is much more dynamic for them, and emotions are always at their best. Almost nothing can knock them down; they look sadness in the face, laughing boisterously. What causes obvious distrust among melancholic people.
It will be very difficult for the latter to see the world as shiny and rich, since such people are very happy with the calm colors of everyday life. They usually float with the flow, without looking around once again. It would seem that since he seems to be happy with everything, why should he even think about the positive?
And yet, choleric people sometimes need to be pacified, and melancholic people need to be pulled out of the shadows. Both tasks are difficult, but sometimes a person comes into a period when he clenches his hands into fists and says to the world menacingly, “I want to be happy!” And actions to acquire a mass of positive things come into force.
Rules for positive thinking
To understand how to learn to think in such a way as to control thoughts, feelings, actions and fate itself, you need to adopt the rules of positive thinking:
- Take a simpler approach to life, don’t complicate it. An obstacle is an opportunity for growth and development, not a tragedy. In a difficult situation, you need to remove bad thoughts from your head and act, believing in the best.
- Enjoy simple things, enjoy every moment of life and give joy to others. A smile, a kind word, selfless help, ease and simplicity in communication help to feel happiness and satisfaction with life. It is better to express your thoughts to others with kindness and positivity, then they will respond in kind.
- Do not support empty conversations about illness, poverty and other troubles, do not communicate with “difficult” people. This is the principle of reasonable egoism. There are people who try to “infect” with negativity, voluntarily or unwittingly, while their goal is simply to complain about life, quarrel or gossip. If such people are offered ways to solve their problems or asked to change the topic, they will reject the proposals, as they are determined to “swim” in negativity, so it is better to avoid them.
- Do not overload yourself with streams of unnecessary information, negative news, programs and films that irritate or cause anxiety. Every day a huge amount of false and true, but unnecessary information comes from outside. You need to be able to “block” this flow at the right moments.
- Live a full life. Having time to work and relax, paying attention to all areas and spheres of life is the only way to maintain harmony and peace of mind. Active recreation, communication with interesting people, being in nature is better than endless dull lying on the sofa.
- Love and value yourself. How to learn to control your thoughts when the value of your own “I” and your life is lost? For people who don't love themselves, the concept of positive thinking is difficult to accept. They don’t think about how to think correctly because they don’t believe in the possibility of happiness for themselves.
- Develop as a person. Many people come to understand how to think for themselves correctly. This knowledge is acquired through experience and wisdom. People involved in development, who love to study and learn new useful information, find the answer to many questions, including the question of how to learn to control their thoughts in books on psychology.
- Lead a healthy lifestyle. Physical health depends on mental health and vice versa. The rules of a healthy lifestyle are simple: physical activity, proper nutrition, absence of bad habits, healthy sleep. All this helps to be a cheerful person, control and express your thoughts in a positive way.
So, positive thinking is a special type of thinking in which a person focuses on:
- on goals and objectives, not problems;
- on desires and resources, rather than on needs and what is missing;
- on opportunities rather than limitations and obstacles;
- on advantages, not disadvantages;
- on luck and success, not on failures.
You need to express your thoughts consciously and positively, understanding that the quality of life depends on it.
How to start thinking better
There are several ways to improve your thinking through writing:
Conduct correspondence before starting a personal planning meeting
Are you going to discuss something with your colleagues? Pretend that the meeting didn't happen and that you need to chat about everything via email. Compose an email with your thoughts.
It doesn't matter whether you send an email or not. By thinking through your ideas clearly, you can communicate them intelligently to the meeting.
Solving annoying problems should start with paper and pen.
Are you struggling with an important issue in your life or work? First of all, take a piece of paper and start writing. Write down all elements of the problem, including all possible solutions.
Many problems that seem insurmountable suddenly become easier once you write them down.
To avoid confusion, write down the explanation.
One of the most popular study tactics is the Feynman technique. This technique involves using writing to make complex problems in math, science, and other subjects easier to understand.
Often, simply writing down an explanation clears up the confusion. Because the various components of ideas are too large and numerous to be combined into a complete understanding. Writing removes this limitation of possibilities and allows you to piece together a complete idea.
