How to switch from logical to sensory perception of the world and enjoy every moment? + practice

A new day, new things to do, and now you’re running somewhere again... You haven’t asked yourself where and why for a long time - you already have ready-made answers to all the questions in your head: “I have to... I have to... I have to earn money. The project must be submitted on time. We need to take the children out of the section. We need to visit our relatives. We have to do everything in time...”

Every day you live “out of your mind”: you calculate all possible options, create strict timing and a to-do list. This is the logical perception of the world - through the prism of thoughts, ready-made patterns, habitual patterns of behavior and clear arguments of the mind.

But how can you find time in this bustle to simply enjoy life and enjoy every moment of it? How to use not only thoughts and logic, but also feelings?

After all, it is feelings that make our life richer, brighter, “tastier”, more enjoyable, and also allow us to increase awareness, gain a new state and transmit energy of the required quality, which contributes to the realization of intentions!

Sensory perception of the world

Sensory perception of the world

- this is when you don’t just “throw in” breakfast and hurry on - this is when you enjoy the smell of freshly ground coffee beans, savor every sip of freshly squeezed juice or green smoothie...

Sensory perception of the world

– when you allow yourself to stop for a moment to admire a beautiful flower in a flowerbed, even if you are in a hurry to an important meeting, or lean towards a rosehip bush to inhale its aroma...

Sensory perception of the world

- when you cuddle up to your loved one and don’t think about the fact that you still need to discuss everyday issues, go to the supermarket or finish repairs - but live this moment totally, feel the warmth of his skin and the smell of his hair...

The sensory perception of the world is especially important for women, because women by their nature are very sensitive creatures, sensory attuned to what surrounds them. The way women perceive the world through their senses determines their lives.

We can perceive the world kinesthetically, olfactorily, auditorily, visually and through taste.

But often many people, driven by scripts, programs, constant haste and their tight schedules in the daily hustle and bustle, lose this ability to enjoy every moment and feel the world with all their senses.

Logical perception comes to the fore: “I don’t have time to admire the sunset, I have to run”, “This flower is probably dusty, I won’t smell it”, “I don’t have time to hug, there’s a lot to do”, “Music only distracts from work “, “I’ll quickly have a snack and get back to business”... And gradually we completely forget that we can live differently: savoring every moment of life and enjoying even small but pleasant little things.

Say yes and say no

Both are equally important.

First, saying “yes” more often exposes you to incredible new experiences. You can think big, like finally going on that trip, or more local, like going to an impromptu show. Both are equally effective in moving oneself towards new states and sensations.

The other side of the always saying yes coin tells a different story. You know what we're talking about. This is when “no” comes into play.

A very good example: this is the story that Jim Carrey got himself into in the movie Always Say Yes. Although he initially said yes and changed his life in this wonderful adventure, by the end of the film he couldn't take it anymore. It was too much to say yes.

To be able to say yes to the things you want, you must also be comfortable saying no to everything and everyone.

This means: that informal meeting, that wedding, that deadline that no one asked if you could do it, that shopping list, and so on. You know better what is being said, and you can already remember a few of your own examples. Therefore, you need to be able to say no gently.

how to enjoy every moment of life?

Practice “Taste of Presence”

We want to offer you a simple but very exciting practice. It is primarily designed for women, but men can also try it to begin to feel better about the world, the people in it, and themselves. And, in addition, this practice will help you remember what it is like: enjoying the moment “here and now”, like in childhood.

So, divide the next week according to your organs of perception.

And every day, pay attention to one of the senses: smell, touch, vision, hearing and taste.

Smell

For example, today you spend the whole day sniffing everything that comes into your hands, and pay special attention to smells. The smell of tobacco smoke, the smell of fresh newspaper, the smell of custard on a cake, the smell of the things you put on yourself. Smell as if the smell is unfamiliar to you. Look for notes of soaked apple, violet, vanilla, earth or leather in each scent.

Make your day fulfilling through the Taste of Presence.

Touch

Dedicate the next day, for example, to kinesthetic sensations. Touch different textures, touch different objects, touch softly and gently through stroking or patting.

Start to feel with your fingertips not just the texture, but the energy of those things or objects, and maybe even the people you touch.

Hearing

After another day, start listening to different sounds: music in a cafe, street noise, the monotonous “buzz” of conversations, fragments of random phrases, the pattering of rain, the splashing of water... And in the evening, choose music and dance a little. Feel what kind of music you need now: a smooth and calm dance or a riot to the beat of shamanic drums. The best option is if the rhythms replace each other in one composition

. This way you can experience different sounds, tempos and moods. Turn on the music, stand for a few seconds, allowing the music to penetrate your body. Now turn off your thoughts, just let your body move the way it wants. Let the dance happen - surrender to it, enjoy it and create it!

Taste

On a day dedicated to taste, try different unusual or even exotic dishes that are unusual for you.

Maybe it's green seaweed salad, Korean soup or baked mussels. Or, conversely, you haven’t eaten the most ordinary food for a long time: buckwheat porridge, fresh radishes, boiled potatoes... Look for the taste in every, even the simplest product, explore it and enjoy it.

Vision

Dedicate the day of visual perception of the world to searching for the beauty around you. On the way to work, pay attention to everything: birds, bright cars or colorful umbrellas, the rays of the sun or the reflection of trees in puddles.

, on stylishly dressed passers-by, on flowers or on birch branches with the first spring buds. If you can find some time during the day, go to an art exhibition or try to create a painting yourself, even if you think you don't know how to draw.

Expand your sensory perception of the world - and your life will be filled with bright moments, rich colors, pleasant surprises, joy and pleasure!

And if I stop...

Don't run, stop.
After all, the wise say that time does not exist at all. Time is a relative concept that can only be defined when we can compare something. Before and after. There was a boy - he became a grandfather. Time has passed.

But the soul is eternal. The soul sits locked inside the body and looks, looks, looks, tries to see, to breathe. She was there and will be. And the world through the eyes of the soul is not subject to time, it does not exist.

But we are trapped. We think that we are just this shell, just this person. And how we cling to this, afraid of losing the only thread that explains our existence to us, makes our actions understandable and meaningful.

It is not by chance that we meet. Law of Karma.

And so, looking through the eyes of this body, we see the world completely different and get used to it like this, without a soul and without love. In everything, everywhere.

And this is how we burden ourselves with the heavy burden of endless affairs and tasks. We grab all the information like air, the most useless, superfluous, garbage, but we grab it.

It’s getting harder and harder to breathe, it’s getting harder and harder to calm down, stop and freeze. On the contrary, we are trying to do even more, more things. More information.

Everything is now here and now, all the information in the world is on one phone, things are there, meetings are there, plans and events are there. Now there is no time to just look back, at least on the way home. There is always something in your hands.

And the soul groans quietly: appreciate every moment.

The best meditation training for beginners. Learn to meditate in 10 practical lessons. It's free (!) My favorite course, amazingly sincere and accessible presentation of lessons from Igor Budnikov. It has been scientifically proven that meditation is CAPABLE OF TRANSFORMING LIFE, and you only have it. I recommend it with all my heart!

Get out of your normal path

It doesn't get any easier than this.

Consider changing your route to work and back home. Consider trying that food on the menu that you don't even know what it is. Consider trying a new drink or cocktail. Consider listening to people you usually avoid.

Everyone has a story, and most have a killer one to share. You can learn something new from every person you meet and gain new experiences that you can benefit from.

Constantly learn something new

If you've always wanted to cook better, but don't have the time, energy or skills to organize it, look for cooking classes. You don't know where a chance will come from, and perhaps you will meet a person who will change your life.

Don't wait for others to do things. We all want to do things with our friends, but sometimes they don't share the same interests. Don't let this stop you. And remember, there is no better time than the present, no perfect time in the future.

You'll thank yourself and have some good stories to tell the next time you interact with someone new on one of your vacation trips.

Map, Clock and Reviews

Just go. Lately, we all feel obligated to make the best decisions possible every time. Even if it's all about buying a toothbrush.

When going on vacation, we plan in advance the route for each day of our stay.

Remove the city map. Don't read restaurant reviews, just sit down and order. Don't look at the clock, do what you feel, whether it's 2 am or day.

Take 10 minutes every day for yourself

Give yourself the opportunity to be alone with the main person in life - yourself. No phone, no TV, no strangers. For most, this simple task is a real problem, since we are not used to taking time for ourselves. After all, multitasking and financial performance are at the helm of our high-speed car of life.

You can spend these 10 minutes enjoying the taste of your favorite latte, feeling how it envelops every cell of your body with warmth: its delicate taste, delicate aroma, soft milk foam that melts on your lips with just one touch.

Immerse yourself in the process, forgetting about all problems and urgent matters. Immerse yourself in the moment, remembering every detail, focusing your attention on what is happening.

7. Whatever you do, don't plan every minute.

We all have so much to do. We always feel like we are running somewhere.

Let life go spontaneously.

If you're reading this, chances are you have at least some control over your schedule. Don't plan every minute with activities. Leave time for relaxation, for spontaneity. Your brain will thank you for this. Your energy levels too. And even your mood.

This way you also make room for the unexpected. For the opportunity to say “yes” to an impromptu invitation to see a street performance, have a picnic, or just take a walk in the park or have a coffee date.

Spend time outside

You've heard it before.

All of us living in the city miss sunlight, fresh air and the peace that comes with it.

If you say it can't be done because of your busy schedule, try walking more from one building to another. Or just go outside during short breaks at work.

Little moments like these count and they add up in the end. Don't lose sight of them and don't underestimate their power.
