The film depicts the true story of the life of American entrepreneur Chris Gardner. Namely, the most difficult and at the same time important period, in which he tries to cope with all the trials of fate every day.

The director and actors did their best. They conveyed the feeling of hopelessness of the main character in such a way that in some places it is difficult to watch the film without tears.

In my opinion, this is the most inspiring, life-affirming and motivational film. The only one that always makes me (an 18-year-old guy) cry.

Imagine your brain working at super-high speed and churning out all the information you've ever read, seen, or heard. The brain of Eddie Morr, the main character of the film, is capable of this.

The picture can be perceived as a step-by-step guide from a successful person. After all, the film shows how and what you need to do to become a genius. Be neat, play sports, constantly develop and much more.

Before watching, I thought that this was a typical film about a guy’s difficult and thorny path to success. So it turned out, but in this picture I was struck by the presentation itself.

Great game by J.K. Simmons, which enriched an already wonderful movie. For this role he deserves the Best Supporting Actor award.

On the one hand, this is a story about two heroes who have nothing in life except music. It replaces everything for them: friendship, love, sex. On the other hand, some people don't even have this.

“The Truman Show” is a psychological parable about overcoming those attitudes that we have been stuffed with since childhood. The character and will of the parents, public morality, the surrounding way of life and a host of other things.

According to the plot, the main character of the film understands that all his life he lived within the framework of a separate show, in a circle of fake people. He struggles to escape from this world that completely dictates his fate.

In the end, it turns out that Truman is the happiest person in this picture. Unlike the others, he lived his own life all this time.

This is rather a product for intellectuals. But it takes its rightful place among the best films of the last century.

While most of the films on this list are a success story, this one is the opposite. All the goals and landmarks of the main characters are already behind. Life is ending, but they still haven’t tried much in so many years.

Such stories make you think about the meaning of life and appreciate every moment, filling it with meaning.

After watching it, I came to the conclusion that if you are able to laugh a moment before death, then you didn’t live in vain.

Quote from the film:

A Thousand Words (2012)

Starring:

  • Eddie Murphy
  • Kerry Washington

Duration: 1 hour 31 minutes

A comedy starring Eddie Murphy, it also belongs to the “Films about self-development” category. The film contains an excellent idea - every word of a person is valuable, and it is important to monitor your own speech. The main character, Jack, is a successful book agent who likes to persuade people to buy things and talks a lot without thinking about what he says.

But one day life changes dramatically - he meets an eastern sage, a guru, he decided to teach the young man a lesson, and gave him an amazing tree that grew on Zhek’s property. There are one thousand leaves on the tree, which is exactly how many words the hero can utter before the end of his life. How to live now?

It is necessary to learn to think about words, to constantly calculate their importance. The film is funny and comedic, but there is also a tragedy of human thoughtless existence. Why say unnecessary words, why hurt loved ones with words? We often forget: words carry special energy and influence people.

- And your wife? Does she know that you love her?

“I tell her about this all the time!”

- Words? More words, Jack! You tell them to her the same way those useless leaves fall from a tree. Words...Can't you SHOW her that you love her? Find peace of mind - show them how much you love them and be sincere.

"Detonator" is an unusual and complex, perhaps even frighteningly complex film. Everything is mixed here - moral questions raised before the audience, the question “what would I do in such a situation?”, a sense of the reality of what is happening. In short, there is no denying that Detonator will make the viewer think when watching it!

San Francisco, 1950s. Margaret is an artist and single mother trying to make ends meet. She meets the charming artist Walter Keene and soon becomes his wife. And from this moment the story of deception begins, in which Walter becomes a successful and famous swindler, and his wife becomes a slave artist.

The retro film was directed by Tim Burton. In this work, he moved a little away from his usual style and showed us not the creepy world of fictional creatures, but real life. However, he told about this in a bizarre manner, which makes Margaret's story look somewhat fabulous.

By the way, Burton is a fan of Margaret Keane's work. And critics found some similarities between the artist’s paintings and the visuals of Burton’s films.
