At all times, nobility has been considered an important component in relationships with people. Even today, in our cynical age, this quality is appreciated. Nobility has become in demand, but it cannot be acquired without spiritual strength. People with this quality live by the laws of decency, compassion and caring. Nobility is a real gift that does not need rewards.
What is nobility?
This word consists of two others: good and kind. This implies not only a noble family, but also a good upbringing, as well as a sense of responsibility. In the modern world, this phenomenon also has a place: almost every person has forgiven someone for an offense at least once in their life or helped those who needed it. Any act that is based on goodness can be considered nobility.
When thinking about what nobility is, the meaning of this word is difficult to interpret unambiguously. No regulations or laws are needed for its manifestation. A person commits noble deeds only because it is characteristic of his essence. Fortunately, today you don't have to be blue-blooded to have this quality. It is actions that are highly valued, because they reveal the character of a person and his sides. Despite their shortcomings, people can act honorably: lend a helping hand, listen, keep a promise, or worry about the righteous path.
Nobility versus meanness (Dubrovsky)
A.S. Pushkin, who all his life hated the injustice, emptiness and “savagery” of the nobility, in the novel “ Dubrovsky ” brought to the fore one of the representatives of the provincial nobility - an ambitious, noble rebel who suffered from his own class, young Dubrovsky.
The tyranny and despotism of the noble master Troekurov leads to the fact that the old master Andrei Gavrilovich Dubrovsky dies. His estate is illegally awarded to Troekurov. From this moment on, a conflict develops; a rebellion is brewing in the souls of Dubrovsky’s peasants.
Young Vladimir Dubrovsky is idealized by Pushkin. This is how he sees a hero-liberator, a fighter for truth and justice. The young nobleman is endowed with the features of a typical romantic hero: smart, educated, noble, brave, kind, stately, handsome. His relationship with the peasants is built on loyalty and trust.
The peasants' protest against Troekurov's tyranny finds a response in Dubrovsky's heart. They are driven by a feeling of revenge for the death of Andrei Gavrilovich Dubrovsky, they hate government officials who can only work for rich, dishonest local “idols”.
Rebellion in the soul of the people almost always “results in real struggle. Therefore, according to the laws of the adventure genre, the popular uprising takes on an underground character, an unknown gang of noble robbers robs and burns the landowners' estates. Vladimir Dubrovsky is in love with the daughter of his enemy, so he refuses revenge on Troekurov.
Pushkin aggravates the conflict with the wedding of Masha Troekurova and the elderly Prince Vereisky and the support of this marriage by the girl’s father. Dubrovsky desperately tries to win back his love, but is too late. Masha is married, Dubrovsky is wounded. This last detail serves as a plot justification for the rebel war to take on a massive scale.
A. S. Pushkin depicted the life and customs of the provincial nobility with the idealized moral principles of the ancient nobility. He contrasted honesty with meanness, generosity with greed, love with hatred, restraint with revelry.
The novel reveals the parasitic essence of bureaucracy, its uselessness, cowardice and perversity. Goodness and nobility, as in fairy tales, must win, so Pushkin ends the novel with the disappearance of the gang of robbers, leaving a chance that when the time comes, they will again defend the oppressed.
Nobility and freedom
Nobility is a certain moral code by which one must live. It is aimed at creation, not destruction. People with this quality love all living things and simply cannot pass by someone who needs their support and help.
Having decided to live according to the laws of kindness and compassion, a person feels freer: he no longer cares about public opinion or the noise of the crowd. He chose his path and overcomes it with dignity. Such a bold and firm position allows you to look into the future with confidence and not feel ashamed of your behavior. After all, a person who is proud of himself does not need public approval, he is self-sufficient and is responsible for his actions.
Orthodox Life
According to the teachings of the Orthodox Church, nobility is a very important character trait of a person. This does not mean noble, noble origin, but the nobility of the soul - a true treasure that never fades. The sayings of the saints and elders of Holy Mount Athos will help you understand what Christian nobility is and how to achieve it.
“Today, one father and I… talked about the nobility of the soul…. Indeed, she is noble, for she accepted nobility from the Lord Himself, which He gave her, loving her. And we must keep it; and it is preserved by the same nobility that the Lord gave to the soul.”
(Reverend Silouan of Athos)

“When, after the resurrection, the Lord appeared to His disciples and began to speak to the Apostle Peter, he did not reproach him, but nobly asked: “Do you love Me?” (John 21:15). This kind word of the Lord’s fatherly love teaches us that we should do the same with people when someone offends us. This is the nobility of Christ, and it is incomprehensible to man, and is known only by the Holy Spirit.”
(Reverend Silouan of Athos)

“Parents must acquire spiritual nobility towards their children. But if they do not live with Christ, they will not achieve this.”
(Elder Ephraim, head of the Athonite monastery of St. Andrew the First-Called)

“In spiritual nobility there is spiritual justice, and in spiritual justice there is spiritual nobility, or, better said, nobility is spiritual justice. Therefore, for a person in whom there is spiritual nobility, there is no law: “There is no law for the righteous.” Such a person would rather be killed than kill himself.”
(Reverend Paisiy Svyatogorets)

“A Christian is noble. What does this mean?! The fact is that a Christian prefers to endure insults than to offend! How does this happen? “When goodness and love come to us, then we forget about the evil done to us.” We no longer see this evil! There is a secret hidden here. When evil comes to us from the demonic world, you cannot avoid it, because it enters our lives... But you can learn not to see evil, and it will disappear!
(Reverend Porfiry Kavsokalivit)

“Everything in his being breathed humility: a bright face, a warm smile, a meek and edifying word, delicacy, joy and simplicity, the way he hid his exploits and monastic work - in a word, his spiritual nobility. Rarely have I seen a more noble man than Father Dionysius.”
(Archimandrite Ephraim of Vatopedi about the Athonite elder Dionysius (Ignat))

“The outward behavior of this husband was very simple, and at the same time, his undoubted quality was inner nobility, if you like, aristocracy in the highest sense of the word. When communicating with him in the most varied conditions, a person of even the most subtle intuition could not notice in him gross movements of the heart; pushing away, disrespect, inattention, posturing and the like. He was truly a noble man, as only a Christian can be noble.”
(Hieromonk Sophrony about the Venerable Silouan of Athos)

Nobility, nobility, to unite with Christ - without this success is impossible. If you knew what nobility gives, you would chase it day and night, and forget about sleep. If a person carefully examines spiritual nobility, he will find the greatness of God hidden in it!”
(Reverend Paisiy Svyatogorets)

“Let us not force God with prayer. Let us not ask God to deliver us from anything, from illness and the like, or to solve our problems, but we will ask Him for strength and strengthening to endure everything. Just as He nobly knocks on the door of our soul, so we will nobly ask for what we desire. And if the Lord does not answer, let us stop asking for it.”
(Reverend Porfiry Kavsokalivit)

“You, fathers, imitate the wisdom of the patriarch Abraham, who took a simple wife. Looking neither for wealth, nor for noble birth, nor for the beauty of the body, nor for anything else except the nobility of the soul. And you, mothers, raise your virgins this way. You suitors who want to take them, take them with all decency... and always asking God to be a mediator in all your affairs.”

What is the danger of lack of nobility?
People who are insecure and complex subconsciously consider themselves not good enough to show nobility. They try to assert themselves at the expense of others, humiliating others. They are characterized by aggressiveness, vindictiveness, and their actions are destructive. As a rule, they deliver all their blows on the sly and constantly weave intrigues.
Under the influence of a bad society, people lose such a quality as nobility. Therefore, one should instill virtues in children from birth and not forget about human norms.
How to become noble?
Not everyone understands what nobility is; its meaning is difficult to interpret unambiguously. In order to discover this quality, you do not necessarily need to belong to a noble family or be a deeply religious person. There are simple rules that help cultivate nobility in yourself. A person will not only experience their benefits himself, but will also make his contribution to relationships between people. Perhaps someone will want to follow his example.
- Perform selfless acts.
- Get rid of selfishness and subjectivism.
- Follow the natural order of things.
- Improve your mind and body.
- Develop strong-willed qualities and strengthen character.
- Control your feelings and treat people kindly.
- Show generosity and peacefulness.
- Forget about bad manners, anger and arrogance.
Suggestions for writing
Nobility is not membership in a great family, not even kinship with a noble person, not an innate trait. It is something higher that is within. A core that does not allow you to bend under the onslaught of temptations and evil intentions.
Preparatory stage
Before writing an essay, you need to define what nobility and noble deeds are. Understand their meanings. Then come up with an essay plan . To do this, it is necessary to pose questions, the answers to which must be stated:
- what kind of people can be called noble;
- who is such an example for me;
- what is nobility and what does it consist of;
- Is every person capable of being noble?
Having determined the main idea of the argumentative essay, you need to write a composition. It consists of the following parts:
- introduction;
- main part;
- conclusion.
Nobility is often spoken of when an act is performed that is for the benefit of another person from the heart. At the same time, no one is looking for benefits for themselves. A person is extremely honest with himself and others, he is ready to risk what he has, so this topic is always relevant.
Composition
In the introduction, the main idea is written - the content of the essay . There is no need to stretch it, since this is only preparation for the main part.
The main part involves analyzing and evaluating a given topic, logical presentation of your thoughts, and presentation of arguments. Any excess should be discarded immediately.
In conclusion there should be an answer to the introduction question and the relevance of the topic.
The essay is written first as a draft, and after a complete check it is rewritten into a clean copy. The text is divided into paragraphs. You should not distort facts or make speech and punctuation errors.
If it is not clear where to start, there is no need to waste time, but it is better to immediately start writing the main part, and then return to the introduction. You should check your work several times: first read what you wrote in the draft, and then rewrite it in the final copy.
Self-esteem
Nobility and dignity always go hand in hand. A person who has these qualities adequately perceives his value. He understands that the main thing is to be, and not to appear.
People with self-esteem do not prove anything to anyone; they already know who they are. They do not wait for approval and do not assert themselves at the expense of others. But they will always listen with interest to another point of view and perhaps even learn something useful for themselves.
High self-esteem is manifested not in narcissism, but in self-respect and faith in one’s own strengths. A person believes that he is worthy of a good life and knows how to defend his own interests without infringing on the rights of others.
Noble and self-sufficient people are not afraid of difficulties. They perceive them as a natural part of life. In any situation, they try to maintain composure, not to humiliate themselves and not to humiliate others. The nobility of man also lies in equality. Comparing yourself with other people is not only useless, but also dangerous. Sometimes this causes an acute feeling of dissatisfaction and dissatisfaction with oneself, which is often completely groundless.
Definition of nobility in various sources
Literally from the Greek language, nobility is translated as “well-being.” When they talk about nobility, they mean generosity, honesty, and high morality.
In its original meaning, nobility is the totality of personal qualities of a person from a noble family (aristocrat or nobleman). The term dates back to the times of the slave system, when there was still a clear division between rich and poor.
The ancient Greek philosopher Democritus saw the nobility of people “in the good direction of their character.” It comes not from the outside, but from within the personality. A person acts nobly because he can no longer live otherwise. A certain internal spring does not allow you to leave the chosen path.
At some time, nobility was considered exclusively in a religious aspect. For Christians, only God can be the source of the highest good. The principles of morality must be the same for all countries.
They do not depend on the political and economic situation, as well as belonging to a particular class.
Nobility is the moral greatness of the human person. Any person can be noble if he is able to honestly fulfill his duty and live by high moral standards.
Nobility is formed in the process of education. A person does not put himself above others. And in order to make any decision, he must understand for himself the basic components of good and evil. Only then act.
How to awaken your self-esteem?
First of all, you need to treat yourself as a full-fledged person. After this, the feeling of it will come. To develop this quality, you need to remember the recommendations of psychologists:
- Know and appreciate your strengths.
- He is calm about his own imperfections.
- Collect your achievements and build self-esteem.
- Follow internal guidelines, not people's opinions.
- Support yourself and praise.
- Give up soul-searching and calmly admit your own mistakes and correct them.
- Strive to be “real” and often repeat to yourself words of nobility that are creative.
Feminine attractiveness
One of the issues that worries women the most these days is “what I look like.” Strong preoccupation with one's appearance can develop into a disease - dysmorphophobia.
For every woman, it is important how she looks and how much she attracts the attention of men.
